Wendi Bourne: Bio

WENDI BOURNE is a singer and guitarist. She plays many types of music, but Swing and Jazz are closest to her heart. She has been a professional musician for over 30 years. She currently performs with: Girls from Mars (swing), W&E Swing (swing) The Coyotes (eclectic acoustic) Beats Walkin' (western swing/bop) and  with husband,  Rik Bourne (old time fiddle/dance).Wendi also performs as a freelance jazz vocalist.

The Coyotes

THE COYOTES are Wendi Bourne, Rik Bourne, and Bill Dooley.   These three met over 30 years ago and have been playing music together on-and-off ever since. They have played at the Philadelphia Folk Festival and many other Philadelphia area venues. Bill plays banjo, guitar and harmonica and also sings. Rik plays fiddle, button accordion, harmonica, and sings. Wendi plays guitar & sings. Together they play a mix of acoustic music: old time fiddle tunes, blues, swing, english & irish tunes, and even some originals. We can even hire a caller for square dancing!


BEATS WALKIN' is Jim Cohen on pedal steel guitar & vocals, Michael Salisburg on fiddle, Lindsay Gilmore - vocals,  Chuck Lindsay on drums & vocals, Wendi Bourne on guitar & vocals, and Dan Gold on bass. The music is Western Swing (songs like "Rose of San Antone" and "Hey Goodlookin'") and "Bop-a-Billy Swing" (ever heard a Charlie Parker song played on the Pedal Steel??).

Rik & Wendi Bourne

RIK & WENDI BOURNE have been married for over 30 years, and (of course!!) have been playing music together all that time. RIK plays fiddle and button accordion. He has been a musician for the Kingsessing Morris Dancers for 30 years. He also plays guitar and harmonica. WENDI plays guitar and sings. Together, they play for square dances and concerts, as well as on their back porch!
